How to set up SMS notifications in Track-POD?

This feature is available to Standard, Advanced, Advanced Plus, and Enterprise subscription plans. To enable SMS notifications you first need to purchase an SMS package for your country, then follow the steps described below.

Note: Track-POD sends SMS to long-code numbers in international format (+1, +44, +49...). Otherwise, SMS delivery will fail. If you import phone numbers in local format read the following article about SMS settings.

Short text messages in Track-POD are sent from two phone numbers (alphanumerical sender ID is not supported).

Step 1: Go to tab Settings -> Live Tracking and tick the required boxes.

There are several types of SMS notifications:

  • Advance SMS notifications are described in detail in the articleThey are sent by a dispatcher once a route is scheduled and ETA is available.

  • Pre-notification - SMS notification with a real-time Tracking Link. The message is sent to a customer once a route is started.

  • Post notification - SMS notification with Order Status update. This message is sent when a delivery/collection is completed.

  • SMS notification with Live Tracking and ETA - SMS with an ETA and a live tracking link is sent en route either by the system or by a driver at departure from a previous stop. Note: this type of notifications is available for Advanced, Advanced+ and Enterprise subscribers.

Step 2: Edit the SMS text and click the Save button.

Now you are ready to notify your Client by SMS, either with a tracking link, or order status update, or ETA.  By using the tracking link your customer will be able to track your driver's location at any time in real time and see contact info once a driver starts a route.
