In Track-POD, you can send notifications to your customers both by e-mail and SMS with a link to the Live Tracking page that will be used to track a driver's location on the map, contact a driver, follow the progress of the route. Let your customers know where their delivery is in real-time. This message is sent out automatically by the system once a driver taps the Start Route button in the mobile app.
To set up live tracking notifications please go to Settings -> Notifications.
Let's configure the Live Tracking Page first. All the changes you apply to the Live tracking page settings will be immediately applied to the example on the left. Check what your customer will receive while setting up!
General settings
- Display signature and photos - enable this option if you want the customer's signature and order photos to be displayed in the tracking link window once the order delivery/collection has been completed. After the order has been completed the tracking page will be updated and your client will see order status, address, date&time, signature, and a photo taken by the driver.
- Display client’s place in line - enable it if you want your customers to see their position in line. Please note that changing order sequence by a driver in the mobile app will not affect information displayed to the client. However you can prohibit changing order sequence in the mobile app in Track-POD Settings->Mobile workflow.
- Display the Call button- enable it and your customers will be able to call the driver right from the Live tracking page.
- Display driver's name - you can leave your driver anonymous if this option is disabled.
- Display driver's comment - with this option On your customers will be able to check comments left by drivers.
- Display the Download ePOD button- if you enable this option your customers will be able to download the ePOD PDF file right from the Live tracking page.
- Display Goods Info - with this option enabled the detailed information on goods will be displayed in a dedicated tab.
Display order status timeline - the progress of the order will be displayed as a time line.
Enable delivery instructions - enable this option for your customers to be able to leave delivery instructions via the Live tracking page. These instructions will appear for you dispatcher in the Orders section and for the driver in the mobile app.
Updated ETA settings
Updated ETA section is available to Advanced Plus, Order Pack, and Enterprise customers. Check this article to know more about the Updated ETA feature and how it can increase your customer satisfaction rate.
- Display updated ETA - if this option is enabled the Live tracking page will feature the dynamically updated time window for the upcoming delivery/collection. The time interval is set below in Set a time window for updated ETA. If the Updated ETA is 10.53 and you set the interval -15 / +15 min the system will give back the 10.40 - 11.10 ETA interval.
Custom fields
Here you can select the Custom fields that will be displayed on the Live tracking page after the order is completed. This feature is useful when you want to display some important data for your customers without them downloading or looking into an ePOD.
Style
In the Style section you may want to change the color theme of the Live tracking page to coincide with your company's main colours. By default, it is blue and orange, but you can set whatever color you would like to driver and client pins on the map, change the buttons, link, logo background colours. Keep in mind that all changes are immediately applied and displayed in the page sample.
Once you are done with setting up the Live tracking page you can move to setting the Notifications at Route start. They can be sent both by Email and as SMS.
To send a live tracking link to your customers by e-mail toggle ON Send Email notification to clients. Edit the email body to your needs. You can insert any tag from the list of Placeholders on the right in the email text to provide your customers with the most detailed information.
- Once a driver starts a route your Client will receive an email with a link and contact info. By following the link your client will be able to track their order at any moment in real-time.
Note: you can also trigger this type of notifications for orders added when driver is already en route. Select the flow which is most convenient for you in the Email notifications settings.
This way, the system will either request your consent to send a notification, or do that automatically, or ignore the orders added after the route start.
- To send a live tracking link to your customer by SMS move down to the SMS notification and tick the box Send SMS notifications to clients. You can also edit the body of the message and insert the relevant info using the Template tags Legend.
Please note, that SMS notifications are charged extra.
Do not forget to click Save once you complete the set up.
Once a driver starts a run your customers with phone numbers specified in order info will receive short text messages and will be able to track your driver in real-time.
