Specifying location coordinates from the Android mobile app - when does it make sense?

Track-POD Mobile App for Android devices allows a driver to specify correct geographic coordinates if they are different from the initial ones. E.g. the driver is supposed to deliver building materials to a construction site which has no physical address yet. The route is planned to an approximate location and when the driver arrives at the site it is possible to specify the accurate coordinates that will be saved for this site and used in the future.

The option "Allow to specify location coordinates" is enabled in the Mobile Workflow Settings.

The workflow is the following:

1. The driver arrives to the location and taps the Arrived button.

2. If the driver is more than 1 km/mile away from the initial point he mobile app asks for the action confirmation. It is also possible to specify geo-coordinates through the Mobile app Settings menu.

3. The map view opens to adjust the pin location if necessary.

4. The updated geocoordinates are submitted to the web.

5. The site address in Directories gets updated with the new coordinates and can be used for future deliveries.

We recommend enabling the "Allow to specify location coordinates" option from to time when necessary (when a dispatcher is not sure about the correct site location) and not to keep it constantly ON. If not used correctly from the mobile app it may be a cause of some mess in Directories.
