In Track-POD, you can manually create 4 types of orders:

  1. Delivery
  2. Collection
  3. Pickup & Delivery
  4. Pickup - Hub - Delivery

All four types can be uploaded to Track-POD with an Excel or CSV spreadsheet.

To add an order manually click the Add Order button.

In the Add Order window select the type of order and fill in all the required and additional fields.

It is all clear with Delivery (a driver delivers an order) and Collection (a driver collects an order), so let's point out the difference between Pickup & Delivery vs Pickup - Hub - Delivery.

Pickup & Delivery orders are relevant for a workflow when a driver collects an order from a shipper and delivers it to a client within one route. Track-POD creates two interlinked orders with the same number that can be scheduled into one route only. Our Advanced routing engine easily optimizes Pickup & Delivery orders in the correct sequence. Find out more about Pickup & Delivery orders and workflows in our blog article https://www.track-pod.com/blog/building-pickup-and-delivery-workflow-on-track-pod/.

Pickup - Hub - Delivery orders differ from P&D orders. The system creates two orders - Collection and Delivery with the same number - however, these orders can be scheduled into different routes, on different days, assigned to different vehicles and drivers. Once collected, an order is delivered to a warehouse, then it is scheduled for delivery to a customer.

You may also edit an existing order from delivery or collection to Pickup & Delivery. Simply click to edit the selected order:

Change the type of order to Pickup & Delivery (1) which will in turn add additional fields for Pickup details (2):
