If general information about your order or route is not enough and you need it to be more precise and detailed there is an option to add extra custom fields.
You can add custom fields both to orders and routes by going to Settings -> Custom Fields -> Selecting Orders or Routes tab -> Add Field
In the pop-up window, choose the field Type.
There are several types of custom fields in Track-POD:
1. Checkbox - true or false value
2. Number - numeric value
3. Text - text and numeric value
4. Date - date value
5. Time - time value
If you need to edit or delete some fields, you can simply do that in the same window.
All added fields will appear in the Add Order/Edit Order window.
To display your custom fields on the dashboard click on the Column configuration and activate the display of the required custom fields.
Your custom fields will be available for inserting in all types of email notifications. Just find the required place holder in the legend, copy it and paste where needed in the email subject, email body, or ePOD template.
You can also display custom fields in the driver's mobile app. Just tick the box Available on mobile app for the driver to view the additional order info on the smartphone (1). To allow drivers to fill in this field in the mobile app and send the results to the web app, tick the next box - Editable on mobile app (2). Make it mandatory by ticking the last one - Required on mobile app (3).
Let's have a closer look at the Text type of custom fields.
Text fields can be used for free input when a dispatcher or a driver enters the text or as a dropdown list of values to choose from.
If you want your driver or dispatcher to be able to select from a predefined dropdown list switch on the toggle 'Create a dropdown list of values' and create this list using the Add Value button.
With the option 'Allow selecting from list only' ON the driver or dispatcher will not be able to enter any text and will select from the predefined list only.
In the screenshot below a text field Delivery comment has been created. It is set as available and editable on the mobile app. It will allow your driver to leave a quick comment about the delivery in the mobile app without entering any text.
