How to set up and use Driver Home location in routing?

In Track-POD, you can plan routes with a starting and finish point at your driver's home location. This option is available for Advanced subscription by default and for Enterprise customers on request.

Step 1. To apply Driver Home Location in routing go to Settings -> Routing and Optimization and tick box Use Driver Home Location

By enabling the required options in this section you can set up a preferred scenario. For example, a driver starts a job from his home location, stops at a depo for loading and returns to the home location after a job is completed.

Step 2. Add your driver's home location address in the Driver's account details. Go to Directories -> Drivers -> Add Driver/Edit Driver

If you do not know the exact address click the Pin icon, in the pop-up window find the location and get its address by clicking on the map and dropping the pin. Then click Get an address and Save.

Step 3. With these settings configured, you can start planning routes using the selected strategy either automatically with the Track-POD Advanced routing engine, or manually.

Note: routes with a start and end point at the home location without visiting a warehouse are available for manual optimization only.

Your settings from Routing and Optimization section will be applied in the Add Route window.

Route start time is the time when a driver leaves a warehouse if he stops there. Thus, the time when a driver shall leave his home location will be calculated on the base of the route start time and loading/unloading time at the warehouse specified in the Routing and Optimization section.
