How to set up email notifications from your SMTP server?

There are two options for sending email notifications in Track-POD.

1. By default, all your email notifications are sent from the Track-POD server.

2. You can configure a custom SMTP server for your customers to receive notifications from your email address.

Remember that using a standard SMTP – the one which is associated with free email providers like Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail – doesn’t ensure the correct delivery of all your messages (in particular if you’re sending to a big number of recipients). The number of emails per day is usually limited. All the issues arising from email providers' limitations and configurations are to be solved with the email service providers.

If you decide to set up your custom SMTP server follow this simple procedure:

Step 1. Go to Settings -> Notification -> Custom

Step 2. In the Email Configuration section switch to Use Custom defined SMTP and Click on 'Set up a custom SMTP server" option

In a pop-up window fill in the required fields.

SMTP Server - smtp.gmail.com

Port - 465

Sender Email and SMTP Username will be the email address you want to send your emails from.

The field Password should contain the password to the email that you specify for the Sender Email.

Confirmation email will be the email address you get a confirmation message to.

Click Save. If after this step you receive an error that user name and password are not accepted, please make sure to allow less secure apps in the Security settings for your Google account and disable 2-step verification.

Step 3. A confirmation code will be sent to your "Confirmation Email" box, enter the code in the pop-up window and you're ready to send e-mail notifications from your SMTP.

If you decide to go back to the Track-POD server, just switch back to 'Send Emails using Track-POD'.
