How to schedule driver breaks

Created by Volha Viachorka, Modified on Wed, 15 Jan at 4:25 PM by Tanya Derevyanko

When planning the routes you can accommodate different driver's breaks if necessary. There is an option to add long and short breaks and a rest stop for the driver depending on the amount of hours driven and/or country regulations. Driver's breaks feature is available starting from the Advanced subscription plan and can be set up in the Settings -> Routing and Optimisation -> Drivers Break.

Note: the breaks are configured by the dispatcher and cannot be modified by the driver in the app.

1. Long break

You can select break duration and set the number of hours of driving after which the break should start.

Break can also include or exclude service time for the previous stop.

There are also different types of regulations specific to a particular country, which can be accommodated with these settings as well.

If choosing USA for example, the time window will be changed to meet the regulations.

2. Short break

In addition to a long break, a short coffee break can also be scheduled. The default duration for this type of break is 15 but can be adjusted if needed.

Note: short break can be subtracted from the long break, e.g. if the total break duration is 45 min, the long break will be 30 min and the short break will be 15 min.

3. Rest

Rest type of break can be used for long haul routes or just for longer routes when it's necessary to provide drivers with an additional rest time.

Here's how the breaks look like within a route:

The driver will also be able to see a scheduled break on the app:
