There are certain cases when a delivery task cannot be assigned to a specific vehicle, for instance, when a delivery address is in a city center a vehicle shall be certain weight and height.
Track-POD Advanced Routing takes into account this kind of restriction with its Vehicle Restriction Code feature and plans your routes automatically allocating the right vehicle to special locations.
Step 1. To set up Vehicle Restriction Code go to Directories -> Addresses, find the address to which restriction applies and enter a Vehicle Restriction Code (Tag) in the Edit Item window. You can also enter the code in the New Item window if you create Address entries manually.
Step 2. To set up the Vehicle Restriction Code for the vehicles, that are not permitted to access the area or not complying with the condition, go to Directories -> Vehicles and set Vehicle Restriction Code to all these vehicles.
Now with the Vehicle Restriction Codes specified and assigned both to the Address and to the Vehicles, you can launch automated route planning to allocate your deliveries to your fleet of vehicles with all restrictions taken into account.
